Katie L Clark

I managed to get my hands on the rest of the K-pop Collection from Primark! If you haven't checked out the first half of the collection you can find my review of those products here. I didn't end up getting the whole collection because were some items that didn't suit me when I swatched them or I didn't think I'd use them! And so my inner minimalist exercised some self-control and I just picked up a few items that I thought would be awesome for the summer.

I wanted to use all these products before reviewing them as well, so I could give a better idea of how they last and the consistency! It's sometimes hard to tell how good a product is going to be just from a swatch alone. So I'm reviewing these after a few days of using them.

I was so excited when I saw this collection announced on Primark's Instagram page. The colors looked perfect for my style, the packaging was so cute! K-pop branding aside, it's an awesome collection and Primark have been smashing their beauty releases recently - The Nudes collection anyone?!

So I made a plan and popped over to the Primark at Rushden Lakes - side note, Rushden Lakes is beautiful! There's a great selection of shops and you can take a break and walk around the lake if you're feeling drained from shopping. So if you're near, go and check it out!

They didn't have the full collection, so I'm still hunting around to find the missing pieces - here's the full collection if you're interested - so many of these items would be awesome for traveling or for the summer... and so I'm definitely going on a scavenger hunt for the cushion blushers!

My skincare routine is always changing ever so slightly... here's my latest update.
Recently I pared back on my routine, I wanted it to definitely be travel-friendly, so everything here I have a travel size or can depot it easily. And I wanted it to be minimal but do the job.

My Skin

My skin is extremely sensitive with an oily t-zone but really dry cheeks and chin. So it's a definite combination! I feel like my face goes through phases, so I wanted my routine to have something oil controlling and something hydrating as well.
My priority is that my products are gentle and won't do me any long-term damage, so I tend to stick to brands I know and love.

It's officially the autumn and I sit here and get far too excited over the pretty autumnal colours... but the one thing I hate about this half of the year is the weather. The colder weather causes our skin to become drier and crack so my skincare routine is all about introducing more moisture. I always find that the transitional seasons (Spring and Autumn) require more work due to the change!

I've split my skincare routine up...as when you're first looking at it, it seems as though I have hundreds of products here. Truth is, I don't currently use a toner or serum so this is actually a rather small routine which is very minimal in the mornings for when I have very little time!

I adore Autumn. I particularly love autumnal colours; the browns, wine and berry reds and forest greens. All of my favourite colours are autumnal shades and therefore I'd love to share some autumn picks with you all. I'm doing 4 edits: Makeup, Skincare, Clothing and Nails. Throughout this season I'll share all four categories with you, I'm undecided as to whether to do this for every season, however, I'll definitely be doing a Skincare Edit every season as I am a bit of a skincare junkie!

Without a doubt, my favourite part of autumn makeup is the red. My favourite red is actually a colour from last year, MUA's Matte Lipstick in Wild Berry is a wonderful deep plum red-purple. The bullet has a rather intimidating colour however it actually applies really sheer in comparison to the first impression. I find it genuinely wearable and it smells lovely. MUA lipsticks are only £1 each and therefore are an amazing everyday option to throw in your bag...and eventually find it later!

I've also been loving Scarlet Siren, another MUA Matte, which is an intense bright Hollywood red. It is definitely not one of my daytime colours. It's beautiful but definitely to be used with a subtle outfit otherwise I do feel like it's very easy to go over the top with this colour.

About me

Welcome to my little corner of the Internet. I'm Katie, a philosophy and law graduate from the UK. This is my little life and style blog, where I discuss any issues I feel are important to me and those that interest me.

I love minimalism, I'm trying to decrease the amount of waste I produce and I've been vegetarian my whole life. And so there will be some posts on sustainability and things.

But I also love a lighthearted post every now and then. I love a good beauty post, I focus on skincare and occasionally I'll share my opinions on the Korean music scene from the perspective of an older, long-term fan of the genre.

There's a lot going on, it might be chaos... but this is me.

This is my life. Enjoy!
